Anyone use boost retard chip and AFC Hack?

Re:Anyone use boost retard chip and AFC Hack?
Yeah I was just talking about ignition as well. You are talking about the uberchip right? I have no turbo or tuning experiance at all and I was looking into the uberchip, but I don't understand everything well enough yet to dive right into that. Maybe I will just keep researching on that though. Right now I was just planning on starting out with the afc and chipping the ecu for retard until I learn more. Then again if I am going to do any ecu chipping I might as well take advantage of everything the chip can do.

Yeah, that Uberchip stuff is crazy. I'm going to just buy a wideband and tune the Uberchip with that and stop ------- with it. This would work great if I could get it all tuned and working. I'm still learning about this chip burning stuff myself. It gets complicated. I still can't figure out how he is getting a chip with just ignition maps and no fuel. I don't understand how that is possible by looking at this software. Maybe I am missing something?

He hex edited a stock program and just retarded the ignition maps, the fuel maps are still there they are just left stock. He told me that I could just leave my timing at the stock point.

I can't see how you are going to adjust the fuel with the AFC now. On mine the AFC wouldn't do very much adjusting. Hmmmmm....maybe yours is just a completely different setup? I thought they were all basically the same.

Re:Anyone use boost retard chip and AFC Hack?
If you set your afc to 1 bar of boost in the setup, then you will use all of the new timing. If you time it for boost. Then when a certain amount of pressure in the manifold is present a different ignition value is used, from the new redrawn table.
Fuel can be adjusted just like regular, with the afc, but now the afc no longer bullshits the manifold pressure to ECU. So if you have good timing maps you can leave your ecu alone and just ---- around with you fuel amounts through the afc.

This is a MAPhack .bin, which is a retune of the ignition map on a stock .bin. It corrects the stretched/advanced ignition timing from AFC hacks. You tune your fuel like normal and don't worry about any possible ignition-related side effects.
JalopySiR has a thread up on HT about his B20 turbo setup, which uses a custom MAPhack I did for him. 208 whp and 191 wtq off 6 psi, runs like a beast.
anthony88, I'm backlogged right now with a lot of stuff, and have been lagging on a few people's chips. I'm more than happy to help you out... you can DIY by buying a burner and most of my MAPhack .bins are stored on PGMFI.org - I'll give you all the free advice you need if you go this route - or you can pay me a few bucks for my time and I'll do it, just not for the next week or so.
