Default AEM EMS vs. Apexi Power FC vs. AFC Hack

ok....I think I have decided to NOT go the AFC Hack route so now i'm looking at the Aem EMS. I can get one for about %30 under list through my work so it seems affordable, and they actually make a unit for MY specific car/engine (D16Y7) anyone have any experience with this? or with the Apexi Power FC? sounds like the Aem is more user friendly. TIA

I am liking the AEM because it is appears to be VERY adjustable and allows some serious tweaking. Fun for tech-geeks.
So far I am pleased with my Hondata.

Hondata = simple to tune and runs like a champ. You tune it and forget it, and for the average user it's money better spent... nobody on this board is going to push and strange new power levels I don't think.

The EMS is for tuner freaks, people who need the ability to do wierd things, etc. If you aren't already fiddling fuel pressure and ignition on your car like clockwork... checking tire pressures, adjusting ride height - you know, geeking out - then it would be more of something to show off than your best option. It is a little more demanding to dial in correctly, you have to cross referrence your dynos and barometric pressures and temps with some wideband AFs to get your tune to stay consistent.

But... the damn EMS can be configured to use the stock Honda KS in a manner the Honda ECU doesn't - it can read it (once YOU set it up) at over 5000 rpms and/or under WOT and pull timing or add fuel in case of knock. It can also be set up to take EGT input and richen fuel if cylinder temps get out of line. It's a crazy piece.
