Yes ------ I did run a volt meter. All I found was a 5volt power when the ignition was on. Thats why the picture was included as well. Plus I has two other people there. None good with aftermarket sensors but both of them with degrees in some electric field.

Idiot. There are three wires. One is ground. One is power. One is signal out. If you put your VOM on the ground and power, you will get 5V. If you put your VOM on ground and signal, you will get various voltages. If you aren't getting 1.8V on the signal wire with key on, then the sensor is fucked up or you can't wire. If you wired it wrong, then you most likely fucked the sensor. All in all, I'm going on user error based on the way you mounted that sensor and the fact you don't know how to use a volt meter.

I had the same problem with mine.

It was because the color code that was on the instructions from xeno , didnt match the color combo on my stock map plug.

So I did the guessing game and the car wouldt start.

Pulled out the voltmeter and found out what was what and switched the wires around, it fired right up.

Oh mine fires up alright.. Now when I push on the gas its a different story. Gonna have to take out the voltmeter again and recheck ----.

Great thread...for those who call the sensor worthless, I'm sorry but you are doing something very wrong or you are just to cheap to buy a AEM or GM Style map sensor and not creative or patient enough to figure out a good way to mount these things nicely. Motorola didnt design these for YOU to use them in your Honda...so maybe you need to get a little more creative.

Second, to the OP...was this a DIY Map Sensor Kit where you soldered everything together or one that was done by me already assembled?

If it was a DIY Kit, I certainly cannot gaurantee your soldering abilities...these surface mount sensors are very touchy and the SSOP-8 size of these sensors makes it very hard to solder these up if you dont know what you are doing.

If it was a pre-assembled kit...each of these is tested in a vehicle, and the car us run on a TUNED map to make sure the sensor is good.

Third, I cannot for a second believe there isnt some sort of vacuum leak with the way you have your map sensor mounted...it may not look or sound like it just sitting there idling...but I wouldnt trust something as important as a map sensor in the location you have it.

Fourth, get a volt meter on the WHITE wire while the car is sitting there with the KOEO like someone else said...the way you have it mounted should be EASY to probe that spot.

Finally...I hope you are NOT using the GM 3 BAR Map sensor stuff in Crome...completely different map sensor. You need to have the XENOCRON 3 bar (or 4 bar) selected...

I have attached the ones I use (remove the .TXT from the end of the filename)

I couldent get it to work for the life of me. Yes I am fairly new. Electronics is not my thing. On that note, when I was installing it I did have two electricians next to me. Everything in crome was correct. It was not the DIY one. It was already soldered and ready to go. I ended up just putting in a stock one and reburning a map for a honda sensor. I tried two different vacume setups as that definately could of been a issue. Didnt work though. I tried your 2.5, 3, and 4 bar setup in crome, nada. Even tried the motorola ones, nothing. I could of screwed it up, im not ruling that out. How, I donno.

im curious to see what is the problem.

This is not true. I have the GM data sheet. I have the Motorola's data sheet. Same damn formula for both.
