Ever since I installed the new map sensor, the car has been not running On a 98 ex Y8 with a xenocron 3 bar. I thought it was the chip so I got rid of the basemap and trying different maps in crome but nothing works. Now im starting to think I hooked it up wrong somehow. I totally wrecked the stock one, and I dont wanna revert back and have this be a complete waste of time. Anyone have any suggestions? I took a few pics and a quick video of the problem..

is it actually sealing? you double check that its wired right? CEL?

 

here is a stupid *** question: did you load up a 3bar map sensor tune?

 

Yes. Im not a pro at crome or anything but I have tried my own maps, other peoples maps, even 2.5, and 4.0 maps on crome.

Its sealing. I kinda tried testing the voltage with what little I know. I ended up getting 5v out of one of the wires. The reference one.. Um I donno, im confusing myself.

 

nothing against xenocron but those dinky *** map sensors are garbage, we bought one from him and had it all hooked up right got to the the dyno (100) miles away then the tunner couldnt get the car to start, he blamed it on the shitty map sensor not the wiring and yes he also had crome pro with the 3bar selected, bought a 2.5 bar gm sensor from the guy at the dyno (90 ------- dollars) changed the settings in crome hooked up the new 2.5 and it worked flawlessly, i think 3 outta 10 of those map sensors are worth a ----, just my experience with them little *******, and looking at your video when the car did start thats the way it acted at the dyno

 

To a novice like myself thats pretty valuable information. I can barely work on a car as it is. I dont need the product to be worthless.

 

you should hit up xenocron for some help or a refund.
Hes always helped me out with my stupid problems.

 

With my luck he will say it works and im a ------- idiot. But sure it couldent hurt. I will contact him if all else fails.
