22re turbo
im in the process of turboing my pick up truck it has a 22re in it and i was wondering what i should use for managment. i cant decide on what to use, i really want to use hltech or micro tech but i also want to be as cheap as possible without sacraficing reliability. thanks

+4 for megasquirt. You need to be reasonably electronics savvy.
Megasquirt isn't simple, especially if you're building it yourself.
An FMU is a bit of a "hack" in my opinion - it's better than nothing but can only be properly tuned at one load point... Usually WOT.
There are other options - like FAST and SDS. They're both over $1500, you'll lose tach and AC function.
If you're not electronics savvy and can't solder, I sell "plug and play" megasquirt harnesses for the 22RE.
You can get a pre-configured megasquirt.. I can program for free. Literally you can put this system in and have it running in less than 10 minutes. You retain all stock functions. If you bought it all retail, cost is under $500.
EDIS is a better ignition system, but you'll lose the tach and you'll also lose the AC.. You'll have to add an additional ciricuit out of megasquirt to provide a correctly conditioned signal for those functions.

For turbo motors, there are various options on this harness. The main differences are if you're going to use the stock AFM or not use it.
