Default volvo 240s

I've been contemplating dropping my civic and getting a 240, from what I've read, they have decent engines but they are a pain to work on. I've checked out turbobrick.com and other sites for info but most sites seem to be dead or filled with "my engine sqeaks, what do i do?!!!!". Does anyone have any knowlegde on the 2.3l engine?

They are really solid bits of engineering, plenty of scope for serious boost. But they weigh alot and as such its hard to get them to perform. They are RWD though, just remember to get an estate.

Also do a search for the Death wagon, a former hmt dude with a silly fast 240 estate.

They aren't hard to work on, and it's nearly impossible to blow a B230 engine.

Expect Civic DX performance and the ability to drive through brick walls with impunity. They are indestructible. Except for the rear tail lights, which cost 1.9 million dollars and came cracked from the factory.

If you think he's joking, check out the topgear episode where Jeremy Clarkson drives into a brick wall in a volvo 240 estate. The wall came off worse and the only damage was to Jeremy Clarkson.

Living in Sweden, they are about the standard around here.
AS explained extremely sturdy engines.
Gearboxes are a damn joke tho,and the rears are really Dana corp stuff.(The 30 and 31)
