Thanks. Yeah its alot of money but when you sit it next to a cheaper one you can see the difference. This mower has roller bearings where the other would have plastic bushings, and just small ---- like that is what drives the price up. Is it worth it? Well that comes down to opinions and I think it was definitely worth every penny

Its basically just a roller that mats the grass down. Without it the mower will still be able to leave stripes but with it they are more definied and the effect stands out more. Look at the pics, you can see the noticeable stripes with only cutting it once. By middle of the summer it'll look like paint on the lawn

Couldn't you weld a dough roller under a cheaper model to achieve the same thing? Come on, this is HMT, baller.

Since your an idiot your opinion really doesn't mean much but John Deers are for ****. This will cut 10 times as nice in half the time. I'd like to see your John Deere mow at 10mph

It was expensive but had the old mower for 14 years so we figured it would be worth it to go get the best. And I like Z's becuase I've been using them for a long time. And what it comes down to is we can afford it so why not? Paid for it in cash. The next big thing is building a 36x30 garage.
i knew it was an ExMark . i do know what i'm talking about. they are ownd by the same parent company as toro. the both have the same deck. that looks just like a toro z 52. only w/ a smaller deck and engine. and with gator blades the stiping kit makes no dif. i've used both, i found that the kit ripps up sprinkler heads so i sent it back.
i agree that john deers suck ***.
and if you wanted the best you should have got a Dixie Chopper, they are the best.
i don't know where you live, but if you do leaves, or bag, get a Trac Vac, they are the ----.
its a good quality mower overall, IMO you paid too much.

Nobody asked for your opinion on the price. The mower was actually $5500. With the options and taxes it came to a little over $6,000 and we also got a free Redmax weed wacker with it. Please show me a better deal delivered to my door. I've cut for a year with a 72" dual motor Dixie Chopper Suburban Turban and I like the Z's better.

We have a Lawncare business and we have a John Deere Industrial Z-Trac. And just so everyone one knows, New it was more then 2x Whiteys!!!

Z-Tac is definitely the way to go. In our small area we have about 3-4 companies and we are the only one with a Z-Trac. We can shave TONS of time and thereby cost because of the time savings. Cutting grass at 9mph or better saves alot of time, and the ability to turn on a time save trimming time!

Good Buy Whitey, We were looking at Exmarks but our local JD Dealer gave us an awsome finance rate!

Ya, I know. I'll ask and find out.

BTW we have 4 acres of grass at home, 2.5hrs with line trimming, push mowing steep ditchs and cleaing side walks and such afterwards.

z turns ------ rule man. i run a small lawn maintenance business and i've been using a 36" bobcat-ransomes walk behind, that always outlasts my buddy's john deere 36" walk behind. lately i've been running the 48" snapper, but i like the 36 better. the 48 digs the deck into the ground on a hill alot easier than the 36 does. the z's are great, but you can't get in people's backyards sometimes, though a 36" would be necessary for any lawn company

no doubt this mower was a good buy, but i beg to differ about the striper, i think the mower does a great job of striping w/o it
