We are doing better than ever. Instead of people buying new equipment, they would rather pay to fix the old ----.

I am trying to buy a house, and its not super simple like it was the last time I applied for a home loan 4.5 years ago. Im also trying to find a new job as im leaving the military in 5 months. Im walking away from a $40k bonus, a secure job, and a brand new house they just moved me into.

I do web development/computer ----. It's been entirely ------- slow for the past 6mo. I think I might be losing my job of 10 years soon. I've basically been doing unbillable busy-work for the past 3 months or so.

A small marketing company we work closely with (getting us clients and doing artwork/layouts) just laid off their 2 best people Friday which was like half of their work-force.

The last two months I've had money for all my bills a month in advance. I'm not worried.

We do well with our money so im not worried now but wifey just got laid off Friday. ------- bullshit, been there 3 years and shes 3 months prego. So for about 4 hours our household income got reduced by half. Yesterday she got a job offer from equafax lol so shes back in the saddle again and i could still afford to drink beer.

Still in school, funded by the Army, with full 01 salary and BAH(about 2k/month) so I can't complain. My wife is a nurse and there is always a shortage it seems, so no worries here with job security. As long as I don't fail out of school I will be ok.

Adam, get in on scooters. Poor people need to get to work, too.

I work for a trade show exhibit firm. Design/build/service the exhibits. Our clients are being a lot more careful how they spend their money now. We have 2 major banks as clients and a few other good clients, but they are all worried about expenses that we don't really control. Weight, size, and ease of installation are our new main focuses. We have to ship everything via tractor trailer which is costly. Then when it gets to the show, we pay material handling based on piece count and weight. Lastly, at the show, average rate of pay is $80-100 straight time and $150 OT so it is really imperative we don't build stuff that is tricky to assemble.

The first 6-8 months of this year will be good for us. After that, I couldn't tell you how things are going to go.

As for really affecting me. I have basically no bills, live with my parents, and don't do much while making a decent wage. I'm fine. I went looking at new cars yesterday. Thought seriously about buying a MazdaSpeed3 but didn't because they were jerking me off with a 6.9% interest rate vs the 1.9% I expected to pay. ---- that.
