Default 22k is more than it used to be?

i was just looking online because i was thinking about getting a new genesis coupe 2.0t track this summer as a new daily, at like 23k didn't sound to bad but i saw a comparo of the new camaro v6 and for 22k you can get the camaro with a 3.6l di v6 with 306hp and a 6speed
now im not a camaro person nor does the styling really hit me as anything special
but a 306hp rwd car with direct injection 6speed manual and 29mpg all for 22k including delivery
sounds like a deal to me but....
i think chevy messed up by this i mean using such an expensive engine in a 22k car is kinda limiting their profits i honostly think that the base model should have came with a 4.8l ls v8 from the chevy silverado (now im not a v8 fan but, it makes 295hp 305ft-lbs and cost much less to build or they could use the 5.3 with the same 295hp but 335ft-lbs and cyc deactivation, it's still a cheaper engine, and it would make people quit bitching because the 3.6l v6 does not sound like a v8 and i honostly thing either the 4.8 or the 5.3 would get better fuel economy)
also i think they should do with the ss like all american companys do, biggest engine you have, somthing like the ls7 in the current zo6
and then make the z28 a high revving 5.0l (say 7200rpm or so) lsx v8 making arround 350 (would equil the same 70hp/liter as the ls7 in the zo6 though i think 375-400hp could be make if less attention was paid to torque)

if they were to have done as i feel they should then you could get a near 300hp v8 camaro base for about 21k
z28 for about 26k
and the ss for about 33k
that would leave plenty of room that everyone could get the right camaro for the price they could afford, and it would even leave room for a 3900 v6 fleet car making 240hp 240ft-lbs and be sold for about 18.5k with a 4speed auto(or 5speed manual, tho fleet cars are always auto), and cheeper suspension and interior smaller brakes and smaller wheels possibly even steel wheels with hub caps

sorry about the rant i just don't understand american car companys some times

very well researched and stated opinion. tho i cant find anything wrong with your proposition here, for arguments sake i guess the reason behind there low prices is to show the banks there actually trying to move stock and appeal to the market. but thats just a shot in the dark i have nothing to prove that, i still believe american car companies are in bed with big oil but again thats all speculation
