Hey, i'm in need of an OEM WORKING catalytic converter for my 92 Si. It's the cat that's after the "A" pipe, not the one that's connected to the exhaust manifold. It must be in perfect working condition and be able to pass California State smog (i'm in Oakland, CA). Let me know what you guys got. Thanks for the help! I need to smog my car ASAP!

that is highly illegal and if the epa see's youve added a cat from someone elses car BIG fine.

i would say find a shop and give them double to pass you. anyways i pay good money for used cats.

because a new converter pollutes less than a used one. passing smog or not. i dunno its federal law not state.

 

Are you kidding me. Ya the 50 year old smog guy cares where you got the cat from not to mention what are their tracking devices on 1992 civic si cats that dont allow them to be installled on other cars. The only places that wont sell you used cats is a junkyard and its been that way since the 80's

You already made a thread about your wants and needs, so is it necessary to bash me then advertise that you pay "top dollar" for used cat converters? Next, you think the EPA is gonna come on homemadeturbo and single 1 person out? Don't you think they would be looking for the actual shop that do "hook ups"? (which is what you suggested) I'm not gonna pay a shop $35485094 to pass me or put myself or that shop in jeopardy of getting caught when i have a stock Si and just need a working cat. Now someone PLEASE help me out with a working cat so i can get my damn car registered!

 

lol just because you have a thread looking for cats so you can scrap them doesnt mean you need to ---- on this guy for actually needing one to use. Plus, last time i checked its illegal to get a fake sticker (and to run without a cat)...so why do you care if he wants to use one off another car?
