WTB bare B20 b/z block
hello,
recently i had a little incedent with my engine, a stray screwdriver on the highway pierced the base pan and i ended up spinning a main bearing. i need to replace the engine block. i do not need a cylinder head or any internals at all, i have a new crankshaft already. if you have something i'd appreciate if you would allow me to purchase it, no warranty is needed, as long as it is a salvagable engine block, as i will be rebuilding it myself ( I'm a technician at City Honda, St. John's). any help you could offer would be appreciated Wayne Butt 11 Ollerweg Heights Conception Bay South Newfoundland Canada A1X 7P4 (709) 834-3670 |
Re:WTB bare B20 b/z block
base pan? meaning oil pan? meaning your b20 block is just fine?
|
Re:WTB bare B20 b/z block
yeah, i don't understand? if you spun a bearing, and you have a new crank, all you need is a pan right? unless "base pan" is something besides the oil pan ???

Re:WTB bare B20 b/z block
nah, just take that new crank and throw it in the block. proper bearings w/ some plastigauge and you're set.

Re:WTB bare B20 b/z block
no.no.no. i need a BLOCK. the damaged "oil pan" caused the oil to drain out. that ruined the block see... i knew i damaged the crank so i bought a new one. when i installed it and plastigaged the bearings (also new) there was too much clearance. i have to replace the cylinder block. i guess the post was a bit vague.

if there's too much clearence you get different bearings ;)

i'm a tech at a honda dealer locally (for the last 13 years), so i tried the biggest (black) bearings and still too much clearance.
