Some cats are worth $400 plus per cat depending on what vehicle they came out of...why dont you post up what you are willing to pay for various models.

really. My quicky research just showed a basic 10-15 dollar value for most at recycle lots.

Well..i'll pay $10-15 for honda/acura cats but if i buy any i don't want to buy just one, with the shipping included i won't make much..i'm good friends with a cat recycler so..i usually get the best prices for them, as far as I know. If anyone has or knows of any places to get mercedes/bmw/porsche cats..let me know they're exotic and they're $$$$ if you can get one to me you'll get more money than just bringing it to a recycler. Ones off from 80's and 90's chevy and gmc trucks are pretty good too..let me know..i'm not really interested in like one single cat, though..unless its a european/exotic one

The guy that comes to my shop pays at the very least 75.00 cash per cat and goes up from there. He takes them to a recycler and makes mad cash. He drives a brand new f550 and had about 7500 in cash in his wallet.

Same here...my fiancee's father works at an Audi dealership as parts manager, they get no less than $100 per dead cat and upwards of $400 on some of the more exotic cats (they do VW/Audi/Porsche there).

They give like $40-80 for an aluminum block/head as well...

Re: WTB: ANY junk Catalytic Converters

Well, for honda-acura cats around here we get like 30-35 for them..pretty sure. I didn't think this was going to work out, you guys are swindlers as well, cant bullshit a bullshitter.

Re: WTB: ANY junk Catalytic Converters

If you're getting only $35 for import cats then you are getting the shaft, I'm sure you are making more than that and just lying to increase profits. I know, I've recycled them before.

quandie was this a normal metal recycle place or a place that dealt with just cats? Damn I just dumped 3 old cats like 3 weeks ago bummer

quadnie 02-03-2007 05:23 AM

Re: WTB: ANY junk Catalytic Converters

Chris,

The bulk of the small recyclers specialize in raping you. I know a guy local who just sold his perfect condition 93 f150 cat to a place for only $25. I know if he decided to travel to a larger city (maybe an hours drive) with bigger industry he could have possibly gotten double that price. Import cats are fetching the biggest bang per buck - I would assume because of the advanced technology of fuel efficiency and being environmentally friendly (Bosch systems in european cars have been around longer than honda has been making cars). Like I said, asian cars pay but you can expect jack ---- for your 1980s K car catalytic converter. PM me next time you have a few to sell, I'll get you hooked up.

quadnie 02-03-2007 05:29 AM

Re: WTB: ANY junk Catalytic Converters

Oh yeah, I never let any of my acura/honda cats go for under $50 when I'm selling them to random people on forums. If the person lives in a shitty place that enforces emissions and is in a bind then they will pay. I think I'll have a 90/91 integra cat for sale here soon - I'm thinking about installing another resonator in place of the cat because my custom mandrel bent exhaust is LOUD + obnoxious (yet I can't bring myself to make a normal muffler sacrifice).

Chris Harris 02-04-2007 12:25 AM

Re: WTB: ANY junk Catalytic Converters

Just go to a couple local muffler shops and play dumb...say you heard they have a good recycler and wondered if you could get their number or refer you to someone.

I'll pay $50.00 for Honda/Acura cats

$30.00 for manifold cats such as the HF.

Thank you for bumping this up because it seemed as though it was going to die. Maybe I'll get a few more cats out of it now.

Bump again, do you contribute any tech related posts, or are you just trying to buy and sell ---- on all the forums?

When I became a member over 4 years ago and I was turboing my car and what not, YES. Now I don't as much unless someone emails me asking a question. And I can guarantee that I have way more knowledge about Honda/Acura than you do so do not try to call me out on this.

Yes I am and I refuse to take paypal payments because I have finally been screwed by them. EVERYONE will be screwed at some point, its inevitable. I accept visa/mastercard payments though. As far as why I you always see parts, I am a licensed salvage dealer in PA that specializes in Honda/Acura.
