WTB: 86-87 Integra rods

Re:WTB: 86-87 Integra rods
Brian G of HASport stated that they weren't that much beefier than 88+ D16 rods, and not worth the effort. His opinion of them was they were a cruder earlier casting more than they were a beefier casting.

Re:WTB: 86-87 Integra rods
I'm sure Brian G of HASport is good at swapping motors but the guy that gave me the info was an engineer for Nissan and TRD(Toyota Racing Development) He said and I quote(The rods from the 88-89 version of the Integra motor is just a weak as the newer versions of the D16 ) But the 86-87 d16a1 rods can handle up to 250 hp which is where I want to get on my project. Anyway thanks for the info and smokeycivic is the motor blown. If so why not pull the rods out unless they are messed up but I am looking for a motor to put in a 86 CRX where are you located. and how much are you asking for it

Re:WTB: 86-87 Integra rods
I am not saying that 88+ d16 rods won't hold 250whp but the key is for how long. it is a known fact that the d16 rods are not cut out for high horsepower outputs . If this guy is running stock d16 rods around 250 it is a miracle and if he does how long will it last maybe he shot peened or nirtrated them but all I am saying is the d16 rods from a 86-87 Integra are more reliable and durable than the newer d16 rods. I would love to be able to keep the rods in my d16y8 and reach 250 hp but I don't want to chance it and I trust a Mechanical engineer more than some guy whos trying to push the limits of physics. Thats just my opinion. I found out that if you machine some B18a you can make them work for the SOHC so that looks like what I am going after instead of a earlier Integra rod.
