I'm looking at getting an xbox, but I don't know the first thing about modding them. Which one of you guys either has one, or knows something about it?

i've done it before, check out www.xbox-scene.com you should be able to pick them up fairly cheap, depending on how many games you want to be able to back up, or how many movies, or whatever you want will determine the hard drive size, as far as the dashboard (kind of like the operating system in a computer) i have used avalaunch and evolutionx... the chip used in it will be up to you depending on what all you want to do with it, but most allow you to do about anything anyways, and i suggest getting one with a soldered in mod chip, moving and shipping an xbox with a solderless connection can be tricky (you would probably have to make sure it didn't move around).... i would bet you could find a modded one for 100-150

of course i don't know the sellers or anything, also note if you buy an earlier xbox some power supplys had bad solders and just need two spots fixed very easy to do, i suggest if you get a 1.0 or 1.1 you ask if it has been checked out
