how do i get the crx to be legal in california? smog regulation? anyone ever bought a car out of state? any fees to pay?

you have to pay taxes on the car and you have to get smog check 2 done at a test only station.

dont know about the cali smog issue. were i live i dont even have to have emmisions. so open flowing 3 in exhuast for me. no cat no resinator. hope they never change that. lol

but as for the differnt state thing. im pretty sure you have to get the titile for what ever sate you buy it in then after the titile come back in your name it has to be switched over to your state. hence an extra charge for switching the titile to your state.

are you sure man? I dont want to drive all that way there just to find out the car can not pass smog and not able to get it.

I'm pretty sure that in california that if you dont have a CAT you will definitely not pass smog. Unless you got hook ups.

haha you would be fined 1500 bux for no cat in cali, cali is the most strict state about smog, any vehcile that comes from another state MUST pass smog check II or else it has to be 'reapired' to where it will. and the taxes are the car tax that you paid for the car (10%) plus if the car is back on tags from the other state you have to pay 92 bucks for every year it is back registered.
