No stickers yet...but hmm...that's a good idea! We'll let you know if we have some made. Anybody have any suggestions on a good printer?

I'm not trying to be an *** or anything, but isn't it bad on the threads to have a fitting like that hanging off the block? I've always heard that the best thing to do is run a single line from the block to a distribution block (or T fitting) on the firewall. Has anyone seen any breakage due to this type of fitting?

Steve

Steve,

Good question. I can't honestly say that there are absolutely no negative effects from using an adapter to take oil off for other purposes.

It's normally the movement between moving and a stationary items that causes fatigue and breakage. Using a fitting on the block(moves and vibrates) and a tee on the firewall(stationary), with a braided hose connecting them, means that all the pieces involved must absorb the vibration and flexing of the engine. Normal engine operation causes vibration, and driving causes the engine to flex in the mounts. Even though the majority of the flex is absorbed by the braided hose, the natural stiffness of the hose still causes some vibration and flex load to be placed on the fittings.

On the other hand, if all of your fittings and hoses are attached to only the engine at all points...oil fitting - hose - turbo...then none of the components need to flex, and all are vibrating together. so they do not work against each other to produce fatigue.

I can't say that it's perfect, but I can undoubtedly say that it is the best solution I've seen yet. Still, I'd liek to get everyone's opinion on it, especially Jeff, who has been using one on his B20 block for some time now...

Jeff?

Also, I updated the top message in this thread.
