Have you tuned many A6's with the Delta 272 cam? Any cam adjustments?

 

All NA cars respond well to cam adjustments, for some it is mandatory.

All D16, NA or turbo, REQUIRE cam adjustments. I've never seen an engine that gets thrown out of mechanical time so easily, a few thou millage or deckage is a LOT for D-series.

All big all motor cam turbo cars require more cam adjustments the bigger the cams are.

Best bet for you, sir, is to center the distributor and then adjust the cam gear to dial in the ignition timing - works wonders for me. If it were an aftermarket billet as opposed to a regrind you might have a bit to play with, but that 272 should act like a stocker more or less (with respect to optimal timing) and the stock setting is pretty close to ideal.



FYI, pffft. So the gear has two markings less swing one way and two markings more the other. I just want to get best results out of my GX 60+ mpg miracle engine.
