im sorry i just have to ask, how is a non vtec prelude h23 motor the same as a F22 accord dohc vtec motor ? just curious, and if he did swap a f22 into the prelude the H series trans does not bolt up. have a nice day

well, i used the factory trans, they had just had it replaced before the motor blew. and to the last dude, the f22 looks identical to the h23, but its not. however, it basically is identical in the way it works. the f22 dohc isnt a vtec motor either.the intake manifolds are identical, same cast, as are the exhaust manifolds, and the head use's the same valve cover. all the sensors are the same or interchangeble, and unless you look at block numbers, you wouldnt be able to tell the difference between these motors. and you are wrong , the F and H series trannies are the same bolt pattern, cause i personally just bolted the h23 tranny onto the dohc f22 and the swap works perfectly except i have to figure out where the vaccuum lines all go, its just idling a litte high. i am having a nice day, so you should have one too, and research before you state something as a cold hard fact

well if you wish to put it as Researching, i think you should, a F series motor is from an accord, the only Dohc motor that came in a accord was a accord type R. and that would be a DOHC 'VTEC' say it together now DOHC VTEC F20b,
oh and research you say,the f22 didnt come in a DOHC

The JDM Accord Euro R is equipped with an F20B inline 4 cylinder, DOHC VTEC engine with a displacement of 2157 and produces a horsepower rating of 221@7300. The USDM Accord EX is equipped with an F22A inline 4 cylinder, SOHC VTEC engine with a displacement of 2254 and produces a horsepower rating of 150@5700.

well i just put in a f22b-DOHC........i can tell the difference between a sohc and a dohc . i dont really know what car it came out of, and i really dont care! seriously though, all i'm saying is this is a rare jdm motor that at least looks exactly like an h23. i did some researching and really couldnt come up with much, but i'm busy, i got a big psych exam tommorrow, so i couldnt do much. the engine code is f22B, and the owner of the car bought it off ebay from "streetimports", it was a very clean motor also.it looks like an h23 , but its not, its an f22B dohc.......its a weird motor that i was completely unaware of until i put one in a car, while i was researching the swap to see if it was gonna work (they just bought the motor, figureing it would work like the ebay ad said), i found out that this motor is very unknown, many prelude/accord guys on honda-tech hadnt heard of it and didnt beleive it existed. i enjoy fighting with you......
