Default GROUP BUY: D-series exhaust Flanges

I just got word from Ken at Cheapturbo.com...

We need to buy 10 honda D-series Exhaust Head Flanges for building custom turbo manifolds.

He will be selling these for $45 apiece which isn't a bad price at all.

here's his reply:
henry,
if you did a groupbuy, you could offer them for $45 each if you get 10 orders.
once youve done the initial first 10 and the program is written, you can
order them piece by piece. thats no problem.
let me know if you have any other questions.
thanks
ken
Post here if you're interested, and also give a quantity

I think we need some more info. How thick of Mat., stainless or mild steel, flame cut, lazer cut or CNC mill ? Will this fit ZC motors, D16a6, D16z6 or D16y8 ?

ok here's some more:

1/2" Mild Steel (for easy welding), CNC machined.
should fit all D-motors...
depending on what gasket is used to create the program.

any other questions?

maybe he ment a plasma cutter, even though its not really an open flame, they do leave odd markings after they cut.

a plasma cutter is closer to a tig welder than a tourch. A plasma cutter basicly turns the work spot to molten using an electric arc and at the same time uses compressed air to blow the melted steel away, this is why you cant cut too thick of steel with a plasma cutter imagin getting splatter back at your body can you say ouch!!!!

I worked at a company that "flame cut" steel plate up to 14 inches thick, Oxy-acetylene torch. I have also run a plasma-cutter that cut 2 inch stainless. There is a process called Water-Jet cutting that can cut plate with a water "beam" and works very good. Its mainly used on alumnim not steel because there are cheaper ways to cut steel. I am right now having a place quote me a price on Laser-cutting some flanges for me. I will post up the price when I get it. We have alot of intelligent people on this board but none of us knows it all. Lets have an open mind about stuff we are not sure of.
