FS: MPH Industries K55 x-band police radar gun (vehicle unit)
Up for sale is my radar gun. It is an MPH Industries brand model K55 x-band built somewhere in the mid-late 80s and supposedly taken out of service in the last 5 years. It works in stationary, sitting till clicking things coming toward you and moving away from you and in moving mode where you clock things coming toward you while you yourself is moving 20-69mph. Both modes work and are very accurate.
Its been a blast, I've used it for RC cars and out of curiosity on the highway. It works great, in tune w/ three tuning forks i've used (though none come with it sorry) and verified it from 15-90mph in 15mph increments w/ some radar verification software. The dopler audio works, I had to clean the volume control potentiometer when I got as it would cut in and out, now it works flawlessly.
I'm asking $110 shipped, comes with the counting unit w/ a standard cigarette lighter plug, an antenna and a makeshift RF hold switch (you use this to put the transmitter in hold so when someone or something is in range you flip the switch and get a speed reading within a half second, this is called instant on radar if you're familiar with it).
The unit has suction cups on the back and works excellent mounted in the middle of the windshield sitting on the dash (see pictures). I had the antenna hung via elastic strap (that i'll throw in the box) on the passenger side sun shade in my Z.
If you have any questions/comments you can email me computerjlt at yahoo or aim me at "honda of fury" I have 140+ all positive feedbacks on ebay under the user name TSAudio and vouches on these boards and others.
Anyway here are pix:
Here it is in my 300zx, antenna is in the top right of the picture
Here is the unit testing against the radar verifier software in moving mode
Here it is on power up in moving mode (stationary shows only 100 in the target window)
