What's the flow rate on the injectors?

Depending on who you talk to, 440 or 450. I say 440 but thats because I was told that back in the 90's.

I'm picking up a '95ish Talon for $500.00 or so. It's a shitbox but should be a nice project car. Will the injectors fit in a 2G? (Any knowledge of DSM owns me)

Yes they fit right in. I love DSM's. If you have some questions on your restoration of the 2G lmk. I have a 6 bolt swapped 2G right now that I'm just finishing up a de-tune on lol. I'm actually putting it up for sale pretty quick here. I can at least point you in the right direction as far as forums and searchable information goes. Either way good luck on the Doesn't Stay Moving.

Okay, if I buy this thing, what am I getting myself into. Are they 400hp capable/reliable? What are my engine management options? Keep in mind this build will be done HMT style.

You're getting yourself into a ------- nightmare if you have no previous knowldege of DSM's and the car is in pieces and has been modified/hacked and beat on. If you do get it put back together and running good then you'll have an incredibly capable machine. If it has the stock 7 bolt motor in it, you can still get 400whp out of it depending on what set-up you're running, but they are more prone to crankwalk than their 6 bolt counterparts. My advice is since you have to do a complete tear down on it anyway start with a nice 0 mile 6 bolt. The 6 bolts come in any 92 and earlier turbo DSM. As far as reliable goes, IDK what your opinion of reliability is. IMO any 400whp car is going to need contant tuning and tweking do keep it running smoothly. The 6 bolt 4G63 is a ------- animal! I have never seen a motor that can handle as much abuse and boost stock as it can. Howver, the motor is about the only thing considered reliable in a DSM. Pretty much everything else will fall apart around it. A lot of them are 15 years or older, so ---- goes bad. If you restore a DSM fully and do ALL the maintenance and are good about knowing your motor/set-ups limits then they can be a very reliable high HP car.

There are plenty of good engine management options available. If you're going to be staying in the sub 400hp range you can do just fine with an S-AFC and a chip. The single most important tool for tuning and maintaining a DSM is a datalogger! Get that before you do ANYTHING! If you're going bigger than a tdo5h turbo and are looking for higher boost levels (25+psi) you can start looking into DSMLINK. DSMLINK is incredible. You still can use your stock ECU, but you can change tons of perameters. Fully built DSM's run AEM EMS of course, but that isn't necassary until you're in a fully built high state of tune. For a 2G I'd say S-AFC and an Eprom chip.

Start out with a 16g of some sort, 510cc-650cc injectors, a 190lph fuel pump and intercooler hard pipes or full fmic. Don't forget a full 3" exhaust. Make sure you have a boost gauge other than the stock one once you start turning up the boost. Check out www.vfaq.com
They have everything you'll need to build a DSM from the ground up and also have Upgrade Path suggestions. RRE has some great tech info on their site too. This is just a TINY bit of info right here, there is a lot involved in retoring/maintaining/upgrading a DSM. I suggest you get reading on VFAQ and register on some DSM forums like DSMTUNERS, DSMTALK, DSMSOURCE, and more. Go to www.pocketlogger.com and buy yourself an OBDII logger. Even before the car is together it'll be incredibly helpful in troubleshooting. Anyway, that's enough for now, but you get the idea.

I'll kmow today if the deal is going through. If so I'll take the injectors. I'll report back after work.
