mabey a suggestion. If you could tilt the flange that goes to the turbo i bet you could get a 2.5" down pipe on there. There shouldn't be that much more modification on the charge pipeing or anything else. It will just look funny sitting in the engine bay ****-eyed.

I actually considered the tilt and a slight twist like some of the cast manifolds. Either or both should give extra clearance for the A/C which is a primary goal. My next goal is to produce marketable large diameter DP's so my customers can bolt it up without fabrication.

The one pictured can have a wastegate added, A/C friendly is a primary goal in the developement, but at this point, the DP will need to be more restrictive than running w/o A/C. Besides the D/P you may need to install a pusher fan on your A/C heat exchanger.

We are starting out with the T3's due to anticipated demand, but your application is not out of reach. The basic problem is that I do not have the TD04L to test the fit.

I think if you started making custom manifolds, that flow better than log manifolds, which would clear a/c for under $300 they would sell. I interested in paying you for a custom manifold. Half $$$ up front?
Which turbo will you be using?

Is that a single wastegate?

Does the turbo fit on there with the compressor on the left? Will an internal wastegate clear the block/motor mount? If so I wnat one but my paypall is empty. How much and where do I send the money order.

Yes, the Compressor goes on the Left if you want A/C. When it is on the left, the Internal wastegate actuator is in the front of the turbo. If you have a hankering to mount the compressor on the right, then your Internal wastegate actuator will be behind the Turbo. I haven't mocked it up like that yet mostly because the goal was an A/C Compatible High flow compact manifold. the exhaust outlet flange is roughly 45 degrees from the head (for clearance when the compressor is on the left), which should give lots of room for the wastegate actuator if mounted with the compressor on the right. For those who are wondering about why keep it compact...I studied turbos for years, and old school teaching was that heat is the turbo's friend. Heat makes it more efficient...or I should say expanding gases makes it more efficient. I believe you can reduce your spool-up time (lag for the old schoolers) and increase your maximum boost by keeping your turbo as close to the engine as possible while also maintaining a reasonable degree of free flow. Free Flow is the reason the runners have a larger surface area in the plane perpendicular to the centerline than the ports do at the heads. Now if you follow my drift, you could polish this thing, have it ceramic coated, and then wrap header tape around it to insulate it and keep the maximum amount of heat in the exhaust.
