ELZINGA FAMILY FUND-RAISER

Calling all HMT members. As you probably know, the Elzinga family is going through a tough time with the loss of thier son, Jordan.
Jordan's car has been put up for sale in order to pay off the loan Jordan took out on the car. Unfortunately, Jordan's family hasn't had any buyers at this point, but the loan is still outstanding.
I'm calling on the close knit HMT family (that's all of us) to help one of our own in a time of need. If you would like to make a donation to the Elzinga family, please do so. Please do not respond to this post with the amount you have desided to donate. The amount is not important, the important thing is that we show the standard of support we know we have here on HMT.
Any one of our families could be in the situation of the Elzinga family. It's time to for us to treat others how we wish to be treated.
When it's our time to go, our families should not have to worry about selling our projects in order to pay off our debts. This is the same for the Elzinga family.

Show the HMT love that sets us apart from any other enthusiast site. -Steve

Even $1 makes a difference. Again, it's not about the amount. I have donated to the Elzinga family, I would donate to any of your families. :)

no ---- man, if every member on here donated 1 dollar, that would be almost 4k last time i checked, but since half of those people don't talk on here, if every "regular" member donated 2 or 3 bucks, that would still come out to a couple grand, that would be awesome! let's just pray that people will find it in themselves to do this.

Hey Steve, I noticed when I paypaled the money, it goes to some bible store or something. Do people need to put a description of what the transaction is for when they send money so as not to confuse it with a purchase?

Re:ELZINGA FAMILY FUND-RAISER

I don't think so. I spoke with Jordan's dad this morning and this is the paypal for myself to donate to. I know his family is very religous, that may explain it. I know it's going to the right place, though. You guys are great. ;)

Re:ELZINGA FAMILY FUND-RAISER

I've been a lurker here and have taken much from the site in knowledge and want to give back. Skip a cup of coffee, or a fast food lunch and send that money on their way.

I gave what I could, what I would have done with the money is nothing but if we all gave that amount this family's burdens would be lessened.

i didn't know him, but i can only imagine what you must be going through. please accept my condolences. even though it's not much, i hope it can help in any way possible. it would be what i would want done for me. i didn't need that pizza tonight anyway.

we all can afford to skip one meal, drink one less beer, buy one less pack of cigarettes. give what you can folks. you never know when you will need the return favor.

true

Re:ELZINGA FAMILY FUND-RAISER

The amount is not the point of this, and will not be revealed. I don't even know, myself.
The point of this is to give HMT members a way to help one of thier own. To give a little and know that you helped make a difference is the point of this.

Jordan's car has now been sold, which helps the family with paying off the loan. But either way, everyone that considers themselves "hmt family" should be in this thread. This post will now be unsticky'd to make room for other classifieds posts, but you will be able to find a link to it in my signature at the bottom of every one of my posts.

Re:ELZINGA FAMILY FUND-RAISER

...here goes,i never gave much thought to donating until i saw stealths link to the topic, and i read it and i thought to my self,am i really going to miss a dollar or 50 cents even? funerals are expensive& his parents had to miss work. if anyone has ever had a friend dye young or lost a parent,or a loved one then u know what they are going threw. ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS THIS TOPIC SHOULD BE 100 PAGES LONG FROM PEOPLE THAT HAVE DONATED(funerals are outrageous!!!)even if its 50 cents. but dont let anyone presure u into it it has to come from the heart. b/c u want to do it

Re:ELZINGA FAMILY FUND-RAISER

UPDATE: Jordan's car was stolen from the front of his parents house before the sale of the car was complete. This is just one thing after another. Or it could be a sign of a second chance for those of you that haven't donated yet. ;)

The Elzinga family could be your family one day, and I'm proud to say that no matter who's family it is, I donated. :)

I was also wondering the same thing and every little bit does count. I know how much I sent, but I think it would be really nice to see how much of a difference we all made together. That would be up to Jordan's family to let us know though. I might even send a little more once I get paid. :)
