did you even spend 1500 on all this stuff???

Smith-02 10-23-2007 06:58 AM

Re: d16 turbo kit

$20 for leaking turbo
$100 for chipped ecu
$100 for manifold because thats all it cost to make
$40 for an unknown wastegate trim
$150 for IC, piping, tbolts, couplers
$50 for ss downpipe and ricepipe
$10 to make an oil return
$30 for fuelpump
$40 for injectors
$10 for boost, $5 for oil because you fucked the sender up, and $30 for the a/f gauge.

id say 40 for the fuel pump, but other than that you got it right haha

haha :D

Honestly bro your asking way too much for this kit. Depending on the person (hopefully an idiot) you might get 800-900 for it. Just remember cars are not investments they're negetive returns. Just because you paid 1500 for the kit doesnt mean you'll get that back. Good luck with the sale though. :y

Re: d16 turbo kit

It doesn't matter if the kit is good or not. You could put together a "good kit" for $500 without even trying to be cheap, but that doesn't mean it's worth $1000 because it's a "good kit".

I'd pay 700 for it because the turbo is shitty. And yes that's an offer, not being a dick.

d16t-hatch 10-25-2007 10:35 PM

Re: d16 turbo kit

ill sell you it for 700 just with no injectors, no fuel pump, no ecu, no intercooler, no piping, no couplers, no msd, no gauges, and no wastgate

so pretty much turbo, mani, downpipe, oil feed, oil pan, oil drain, and ill throw in a t fitting for the back of the block

suprachica79 10-25-2007 10:54 PM

Re: d16 turbo kit

hahahahaha

What a steal your getting buddy!

Your getting a shitty broken turbo that leaks ($75), A manifold that is likely poorly made ($75), a downpipe that any fool could make ($100) and an oil line kit that you can get from stealthmode brand new for $80- And the total is...

$330

700? what crack are you smoking man, give me a ------ break

d16t-hatch 10-25-2007 11:07 PM

Re: d16 turbo kit

actually the manifold is a bmc super elf when they use to sell it, it retailed for $599, i built the downpipe and it cost me $250 in just material alone

and really i dont care cause i dont want to part it, out at least not yet, and if it doesnt sell im probally ganna use it on my other car anyways

if someone wants the kit i also will inculed a spec stage 3 clutch im pulling out of the car tomorow

and at least im not lying about the turbo and i said it was leaking and not just sold it to some one here and not give a ----

there is a dozen members online right now that would kill you, with a fuel injector rail, and not think twice about running the rail.

Re: d16 turbo kit

I'm a fellow D-series lover, and I do know my ----, along with alot of guys on here. I mean really, you come here and try to sell a turbo kit for $1500 when most guys on here are so skilled that they could make the same power if not more with a pieced together homemade turbo kit for 1/2 as much. You knock all of us but in reality, we have the talent and knowledge to build silly fast cars for cheap.

d16t-hatch 10-25-2007 11:54 PM

Re: d16 turbo kit

thats fine i know turboing a sohc can be done on the cheap but thats how my turbo project started out with and this what i ended up with, i started with a shitty ebay manifold witch was a mistake and i rewelded that thing four times i melted down three turbos, then i happend to come across this manifold so then i spent more making the other parts as good as the manifold and pretty much redoing everything

and it doesnt matter but i think my kit looks a whole hell of a lot better then others and if you were to get a greddy kit wich no on here probally would anyways but it would be like 1300 and come with no intercooler

suprachica79 10-26-2007 12:07 AM

Re: d16 turbo kit

right, for a greddy kit, a name brand kit with brand new good parts.

HondaTuner 10-26-2007 12:15 AM

Re: d16 turbo kit

And then you just have to buy a ching chong meow intercooler, some piping and end up at the same price with an actual working kit with new parts.

Eh?
