Re:Clutches

Or my suck up ass will come in here and tell you how great they are. Lol, seriously guy's these things are awesome. I've hit them with up to 15 psi of boost before with no slipage at all. They grab like a mofo and will definately hold up. It's a great deal and Mike I'm gonna PM you about picking up another clutch kit from you for my hatchie project.

MikeJ-2009 10-22-2004 07:10 PM

Re:Clutches

17psi on my D series and not one slip ever! I got the unsprung one, it's has a little vibration when trying to take off slow (on those granny days), but knowing that I could throw everything I had at it when I needed to was well worth it.
No extra pedal needed. It felt like a stock clutch with the exception of the example that I gave above. These things are bad ass. :)

Re:Clutches

no i got the unsprung d series clutch. its not the best for traffic and town driving but the harder i beat on it the more it seems to grab and hold. i recommend them for the price

LSD Motorsports 10-23-2004 09:30 PM

Re:Clutches

Yes the kits come with everything (pressure plate, bearings and alignent tool), and if your browsing and are using one of my clutches please leave a post as to our transaction went and how you like the clutch...

Re:Clutches

Although I never got to install the clutch (plans changed), the transaction went super smooth and everything was as promised.

i'll be ordering a cluthc very soon :)

Re:Clutches

ive been driving on my clutch i purchased from 88trubocrx for almost a year now, i think... still grips like the first week i put it in...

if you get the unsprung 6 puck... i recommend resurfacing the flywheel and after install, do a couple medium launches to break in... that took care of the initial chatter that i was experiencing...

transaction was smooth...

Re:Clutches

lol i tired that with my oem cluthc...the first one ... lol i installed it pulled it out of the garage and was doing burnouts a few seconds later :)

anyways, this should be a sticky icky :)

Re:Clutches

I'll be ordering one after I recover from the $400 turbo upgrade/rebuild...

Still not clear on sprung vs un-sprung... Maybe I should ask "sir mix-alot" b/c his "gets sprung" all the time when he sees big bootys...

Re:Clutches

Difference sprung VS unsprung

You sell the kits without the throwout bearing?

I just bought one brand new form Honda for $100 so I wont be needing that

Re:Clutches

what do you have for f series?

LSD Motorsports 11-03-2004 01:08 AM

Re:Clutches

I have everything for F series, just like b and d series, 6 puck kits, iron disks, street disks, heavy plates, mild plates and full race dual diagphrams for those in need.
Just to answer everyones questions about sprung and unsprung.
The Sprung clutch have little springs built into the clutch disk that absorb vibrations from the crankshaft. (piston engines are rather jerky) So these vibrations are otherwise transferred into the tranny. With springs you dont hear any chatter sounds letting out the clutch pedal. An unsprung unit is more solid but it doesnt have the springs for absorbing vibrations.

The disk doesnt determine the holding power... the metallic material of the pucks is going to grab as long as there is enough force applied by the pressure plate, i have kits that hold 225, 275, 300, 400 tq
all depends on what you need, then we go from there

Re:Clutches

Fed-ex is supposed to delevery my 6-puck sprung version Friday. Hopefully its only going to take a week to get it installed and get a few other things done ( get a head decked and swapped, re-do my oil return line with the engine on a stand, maybe install some vents for the crank-case, and weld up my rear motor mount to be solid ).

I think my 160K mile DX tranny maybe out there shaking in it's case right now, heehe !!
