---- man, this local guy just paid $15k for an Evolution III. It had some nice mods done to it, like expensive rally ----, but nothing too crazy. I think you could easily get $12k for your evo if you brought it over with you and got it licensed, probably even more (don't know the details, so hard for me to say) if you found the right buyer. If you could find a loophole for shipping and an easy/cheap way to get it registered I think you could turn a nice profit. $5k or so. There's a lot of your trip paid for, or at least the airfair. Then get back to JDM land and use the $ from the EVO to buy your wife something else or another EVO. Hell, I'd sell my 2G in a second if I could get your EVO.

 

I've found 2 palces that will ship and license it. One place wanted $8,000 and the other place wanted $10,000. Thats me driving the car to the port, giving them the keys and picking the car up stateside with a plate on it. The guy I just bought my DC2 from did the 8g route with his DC5R, and as of now has had no problems. He was suspossed to pick it up this weekend.

 

So your $8k asking price+shipping/registration will be around $16k when all said and done. Not too insane at all. Probably not worth the hassle though. After all, it really is just a DSM

 

If i were to sell a car, it wouldnt be a old evo. it would be more along the lines of a GT-R or something. for some reason people in the states go nuts for them.
