Default 1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX - Turbo - AWD - Built Engine / Head - $2000

1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX - Turbo - AWD

High miles on the shell. Car was purchased from Russ ***. Car was purchased without a motor and tranny in hopes of building an all around race car that was fun for just about anything. Car is 75% complete and does not run. Engine and Head are worth more than the car and would be great for someone who has the time to finish. Getting married. Must Sell. The engine alone would run the average buyer $2000 + and with this price your getting the engine, the tranny, a good transfer case, and a nice car. If you want to start building a DSM, you need to consider this car. I feel strongly that if you buy this car and put another thousand dollars into it and some time the car will fly, actually, I know it will.

Make - Mitsubishi
Model - Eclipse GSX
Drivetrain - AWD

Engine - 2.0L 4G63

Engine built November 2006 and ran for 93 miles to break it in.

Block: 6 Bolt
8.0:1 Compression Topline Pistons - .040 over sized
Stock 1G "Big Rods" Magnafluxed with ARP Rod Bolts
Perfect Crank
ACL Rod and Main Bearings
New Top Line Oil Pump
New Oil Pick Up
Oil Pick Up to Pump fully deburred
Balance Shafts Eliminated using all Mitsu BSEK kit
Both block and head were decked
New Topline Water Pump
All new gaskets from Topline
New 6 bolt Oil Pan
New Exhaust Manifold Studs
New Fuel Filter
A/C eliminated and fully removed.
New Radiator (Factory, nothing special)
Power Enterprise Kevlar Timing Belt (The pretty blue one)
New front cover bolts.
New water pump bolts.
New valve cover bolts.

Head is a Stage 5 Slowboy Racing Head. The head has Stage III stamped on it which is what it started life as and I had it upgraded while living in the Indiana, PA Area by SBR. I never changed the stamping because I wanted to keep the stock turbo, do a blacked out front mount, and try my very best to keep it sleeper. The head has Manley Stainless Steel valves. NEW topline lifters (3rd gen style big bore so they don't make noise like the originals). The cams are stock and came from 1991 GSX as well. I know this sounds shady and if you want, just consider it to be a stage III because you still can't touch what the motor and head are worth to this day.

ARP Head Studs

Head Gasket - 5 Layer STEEL Fel-Pro, better than a mitsu metal or cometic. Retails for around $175.00

Intake Manifold - 1G intake manifold, Ported and smoothed in the common rough spots.

Turbo - Stock 14B Mitsu Turbo, Turbine Housing Fully Ported
Exhaust Manifold - 2G Exhaust Manifold, Fully Ported
O2 Housing - Fully Ported (unsure what year it is)

Transfer case is believed to only have about 66,000 miles on it.

Transmission is only stock and came from a car with around 90,000 miles on it that grinds shifting into first and reverse. ***I would probably rebuild it if I was going to finish the car.

Clutch - ACT 2600 with Mitsu Throw Out Bearing

Wheels - Stock 91 Swirly Wheels with decent Hankook tires

ECU - Stock 1991 GSX ECU that was recapped during the summer of 2006.

Color - White with a black roof.

Title - PA Title is in my possession, ready to be signed over.

To get this car running you need to do the following and maybe something else. For sure however the car needs a good fuel pump such as a walbro 190 LPH pump. Upper Intercooler Pipe. New Injector Seals (NOT THE INJECTORS, JUST THE SEALS). Fuel Pump needs a complete rewire and if I was going to do a rewire I would run new fuel lines as well like the kits you can get from various vendors on the internet.

Email me for pictures.

Car is located in Brush Valley, Pennsylvania and needs to sell soon.

Please note that this car has sat since 2007 other than my parents moving it by hooking a rope to it with the garden tractor. The car will need some work to get it running correctly and that means to purchase the car you must come pick it up with a trailer. Please understand that this is a project and is said to be 75% complete!

I will try and post pictures tonight if possible.

do you have any proof of the engine being built and all the work that was put into it? do you have a compression tester that you could post up the results of?

I do not at this time. I realize this is failure on my part. I will try and dig up my receipts, see if I can trick my father into doing a comp test (he hates all Mitsubishi's with a passion), as well as get better pictures of the stampings on the head and block that SBR would have used when building/assembling. I know that the block and head have been stamped so I will get that for sure.

Car sits at my parents house in Western, PA near Indiana, PA if anybody wants to see it.

I moved to the Philly / South Jersey area for a better job so I can't just "run" over and check stuff out.

Ok so between my pops having no idea how to use the camera, he took this picture of my head's name plate. Please be patient, this took my old man 15 minutes to find and 45 minutes to use the digital camera.

SBR 151 - This means this the 151st head they assembled. The did not initially number some of the first heads the built. They did not have a system like this until they got a shop manager.

III - Stage 3 port job. Like I said, this is a stage 5, but that is a long story in itself originally explained in my FIRST for sale post.

I figure between pop's and I, we can invest another 10 hours in this and get some of the pics that I need... *SARCASM*

I have better (higher resolution) pictures of the car taken this weekend by my brother. If you are interested in them, please send me a PM with your email (DO NOT POST IT OUT IN THE OPEN) and I will send them over 1 picture per email. They are 2 - 3 megs per picture.
