12 second 87 Built Turbo CRX HF
Asking $4,000...
Up for sale is a 1987 CRX hf that has been converted over to fuel injection. The entire car has been swapped over to the 84-87 Si wiring and fuel setup. The Hf is the lightest model of the CRX’s and originally came with a carburetor and no electric fuel pump with no sunroof either. The car was featured on the resource back in 1999 http://feature.crxresource.org/1999/sept1_featured.html Engine Specifications: Golden Eagle Sleeved (1988-1989) D16a1 block notched to fit the rods ZC JDM oil pump ZC JDM head with stock valves/springs/retainers ZC JDM Cams ZC JDM dual butterfly throttle body Eagle H beam Rods Wiseco Rollerwave Pistons Micropolished Stock Honda Crank New Clevite Bearings Honda Waterpump/timing belt Turbonetics T3/40e 57 Trim with stage three exhaust wheel (Normal minimal shaft play) KRBFAB ‘Shorty’ Manifold with external Wastegae Tial 38mm Wastegate Releasing to Atmosphere 2.5” Downpipe to 2.25 exhaust 2.5” Charge pipes Large Homemade FMIC Greddy Type S Blow Off Valve SDS EIC Two injector controller on the charge pipe. This head is needed for electronic advance ignition. A few spare clutches with low miles, Clutchnet Dual Diaphragm Pressure Plate, ACT Pressure Plate, ACT disc, a few stock clutches and pressure plates. Complete spare d16a1 engine that was running fine when pulled with ~180k Two Spare 86-87 Teg Trannies Both work but one had metal shavings in the fluid Spare ZC block with one bad piston Spare flywheels A few sets of spare axles Spare spindles/rotors A few ECUs PG7’s and a PJ1(euro zc ecu) Fuel return and feed lines from Honda ZC header and downpipe As with any car of this age there are issues. The driver’s side seatbelt does not work. An easy trip to Honda will fix this because they have a lifetime warranty on their seatbelts. The check engine light comes on when driving at highway speeds for a period of time. It comes up with an Oxygen sensor code. It probably just needs a new sensor. The turbo has a leak where the oil feed line comes in contact with the turbo. It needs a better adapter. The leak is not bad but it is noticeable. The engine also has an oil leak that I cannot find the source. These are not major oil leaks as I only have to put a quart in every month or two. The driver side seat has seen better days with some rips in it. The civic radiator did not have a socket for the fan sending unit sensor. Instead I put a toggle switch in the dash to turn off and on the radiator fan. There is also a small crack in the windshield by lower passenger side corner. That's all i can think of off the top of my head. The engine does not burn any oil. The compression test yielded 150psi the first day after the engine was built. As of last week when I tested it last it is still 150psi in all cylinders. The oil has been changed religiously every 2500 miles with Mobil 1 synthetic 15w-50. The engine is good for about 500 horsepower. The bottom end has about 20k miles on it. The ZC head and components have around 50k on them but it is unknown as it is a JDM part and mileage is only estimated. Boost is set at 16psi and the car spins through four gears. The car handles like a go-kart but is rough with the coilovers in the rear. The car is a daily driver and many of the miles are highway miles from me going to and from work. Rust is always a major issue with CRXs but this one really does not have much at all. There are a few spots on the undercarriage that you can see very little rust. It is only surface rust and nothing major, no rot. There is no rust along either rear wheel well where these cars normally rust. Both torsions bars have no rust on them and there is none even remotely close to them. With the old engine on P195 60R 14’s street tires and a T25 turbo which is considerably smaller than the current turbo the car ran a 13.7 @107 on 9psi. With this current setup the car will easily hit 12’s on slicks. This car has never seen the track. The car was brought to a dyno to tune it and with very conservative timing on pump gas at 16psi the car made 260 whp and 203 ft/lbs of torque with a/f’s at 11.5. With more tuning and higher boost the car can make well over 300hp. The reason I am selling the car is that I want to move on to a car that has 4WD and a turbo. I am open to trades, but I would like to get a galant vr4 or a celica all-trac. Please email me at JOKERT8@aol.com for any questions regarding the car. The car is located on Long Island, NY but I will work with the prospective buyer for shipping arrangements. Re: 12 second 87 Built Turbo CRX HF
OMG I WANT.
You realize that all that MSD ---- and EIC and stuff and things could be sold in 0.5 seconds for a cool grand, and turn around and convert to OBD0/PM6/Turboedit for under $100-150? Your price is more than fair. However, since everyone wants OMG V-TECH or WTF K-SERIES I think it'll take a minute to sell your car. Which is pretty ------- sad. If I had the money, I would buy your car. Since I don't... bump :'( |
