As with any car of this age there are issues. The driver’s side seatbelt does not work. An easy trip to Honda will fix this because they have a lifetime warranty on their seatbelts. The check engine light comes on when driving at highway speeds for a period of time. It comes up with an Oxygen sensor code. It probably just needs a new sensor. The turbo has a leak where the oil feed line comes in contact with the turbo. It needs a better adapter. The leak is not bad but it is noticeable. The engine also has an oil leak that I cannot find the source. These are not major oil leaks as I only have to put a quart in every month or two. The driver side seat has seen better days with some rips in it. The civic radiator did not have a socket for the fan sending unit sensor. Instead I put a toggle switch in the dash to turn off and on the radiator fan. There is also a small crack in the windshield by lower passenger side corner. That's all i can think of off the top of my head.

The engine does not burn any oil. The compression test yielded 150psi the first day after the engine was built. As of last week when I tested it last it is still 150psi in all cylinders. The oil has been changed religiously every 2500 miles with Mobil 1 synthetic 15w-50. The engine is good for about 500 horsepower. The bottom end has about 20k miles on it. The ZC head and components have around 50k on them but it is unknown as it is a JDM part and mileage is only estimated.

Boost is set at 16psi and the car spins through four gears. The car handles like a go-kart but is rough with the coilovers in the rear. The car is a daily driver and many of the miles are highway miles from me going to and from work.

Rust is always a major issue with CRXs but this one really does not have much at all. There are a few spots on the undercarriage that you can see very little rust. It is only surface rust and nothing major, no rot. There is no rust along either rear wheel well where these cars normally rust. Both torsions bars have no rust on them and there is none even remotely close to them.

With the old engine on P195 60R 14’s street tires and a T25 turbo which is considerably smaller than the current turbo the car ran a 13.7 @107 on 9psi. With this current setup the car will easily hit 12’s on slicks. This car has never seen the track.

The car was brought to a dyno to tune it and with very conservative timing on pump gas at 16psi the car made 260 whp and 203 ft/lbs of torque with a/f’s at 11.5. With more tuning and higher boost the car can make well over 300hp.

The reason I am selling the car is that I want to move on to a car that has 4WD and a turbo. I am open to trades, but I would like to get a galant vr4 or a celica all-trac.

Please email me at JOKERT8@aol.com for any questions regarding the car.

The car is located on Long Island, NY but I will work with the prospective buyer for shipping arrangements.

You do know there's these things called "banks" and they can also lend you money ;) I'd suggest you give it a try...

OMG I WANT.

You realize that all that MSD ---- and EIC and stuff and things could be sold in 0.5 seconds for a cool grand, and turn around and convert to OBD0/PM6/Turboedit for under $100-150?

Your price is more than fair. However, since everyone wants OMG V-TECH or WTF K-SERIES I think it'll take a minute to sell your car. Which is pretty ------- sad.

If I had the money, I would buy your car. Since I don't... bump :'(

Joseph,

I have everything to swap in the 88-89 teg head and wiring etc but I dont' know how to do it. If you wanna come up here I'll put you up in my apartment and I'll get you laid everynight and pick up your bar tab for a few days. ;) ...if you help me with the head swap and the wiring for turbo edit that is.

I wanna run more than 20 psi I just don't have then engine management. :3

That's why you're selling it (aside from AWD fetish)? You want more power.

----. Uhm, I don't think I can make it up North anytime soon. You can probably convince Blown90hatcH on HT to make a pre-OBD0 to OBD0 conversion harness for you... but he'd not have a car of your era to make the underhood harness for so he might pass on that. If you are comfortable with something like 7 wires that you need to hook up, all clearly labelled, I'm sure he'd do the harness AND I'd shout e-help if you take pics to show me where you're at.

Re: 12 second 87 Built Turbo CRX HF

BTW, are you absolutely certain you have to do a head swap? Doesn't the ZC/88-89 Integra dizzy bolt right on? If it's lack of provision on the exhaust cam for the CYP sensor, you can probably run OBD0 HF/Si dizzy with HF cam tower cap.

Re: 12 second 87 Built Turbo CRX HF

Thanks Joseph.

I have a prospective buyer coming up from Delaware to NY to purchase it. If it falls through I'll look at my other options.

I know people have done the dizzy swap but I think it'd be better to do the whole head swap because then I am able to port and polish this one since it's already off the car.
We'll see, thanks for the input with the jumper and whatnot.

4WD does sound very nice though.

Re: 12 second 87 Built Turbo CRX HF

Keep in mind that AWD also comes in heavier cars, and attached to more drivetrain losses. One of the nicer newer AWD cars will stand up right out of the hole, but by the top of second start feeling like poop compared to your CRX. A new AWD car won't come with as robust a backbone for making power as you have now, whereas your CRX just needs some suspension work to hook up out of the hole.

Don't let the guy talk you down so much as ten filthy cents. Think hard on it. A different, or newer ride, can be really appealing after having owned your CRX as long as it usually takes to do what you've done to yours. Variety is the spice of life, and much as you love the old slut, your eye is wandering. But, if you just want to go faster, and hook up better, you can do it with your CRX.
