Re:FS: Complete oil feed/drain kit

Hey is the feed line -4 or the return line -4 SS. I'm interested but I was hoping to use -3 cause when I saw the -4 line on my friends LS/VTec I thought it looked kind of too big.

MikeJ-2009 05-28-2003 06:39 PM

Re:FS: Complete oil feed/drain kit

The feed line is -4. I can send you a kit with -3 if that's what you would like. What ever you want guys. I'm going to be putting an ls/vtec kit together as well, very soon.

lets talk

Re:FS: Complete oil feed/drain kit

The distributor I'm working with doesn't carry anything bspt. Jeff says you can re-thread your npt fitting by running a dye over it. Or the $4 adapter from McMaster. This is just what Im working with, but there isn't any better quality than this.

o.k. you said you can get me -3 line size with the kit. Does the kit come with the adapter for -3 to 1/8. I'm very very very interested cause I'm going crazy finding out that this and that size fitting and adapter I need so I want to buy a premade kit. here's my email:

You have mail, and yes an-3 hoses with the kit, all put together, not a problem.

STealthmode. Can you get any larger pics.. Also I will probably be getting some other parts from you. Does the bov come with a flange?

Re:FS: Complete oil feed/drain kit

Can you make another line from a golden eagle oil kit (oil filter)to an autometer oil pressure gauge (dash), probably smaller, thinner line. Please let me know how much extra??

Thanks

Re:FS: Complete oil feed/drain kit

yea i need a sending unit for my oil pressure gauge and how and where to run it from.

MikeJ-2009 05-30-2003 05:44 PM

Re:FS: Complete oil feed/drain kit

$15 for an additional EARL'S blue 1/8 npt female tee and 1/8 to 1/8 nipple. That would give you a tee behind the block and a tee at the turbo for the 1/8 npt that Autometer supplies with their mechanical oil gauge kits. You could probably set this up many ways, but that's just to simplify.

The bov price does not include the flange. My price on the damn flange is $25! Come on, it's homemadeturbo. Improvise! :D

My pictures aren't great quality, but it should help

Re:FS: Complete oil feed/drain kit

Hey Guys,

TunerToys offers a great solution for getting oil for your turbo. We have a tee fitting with the correct threads, which means no more cramming a NPT fitting into your BSP threaded oil port.

This fitting has the correct BSP male thread for installing the fitting into the oil pressure port. On the opposite end, there are female BSP threads for re-installing your pressure sensor. On the side there is a take off port for oiling your turbo, threaded 1/8th NPT female.

This is the best solution we have found for supplying oil to your turbo or gauges. We donated one of these to Jeff for an upcoming project, and eagerly await his comments.

Here is a link - http://shop.vendio.com/funinfeenix/i...867/index.html

As always, we'll make a donation to HMT once a sufficient number of these items sell. Contact us directly with questions. sales@tunertoys.com

Re:FS: Complete oil feed/drain kit

Stealthmode,

Obviously I have somehow irritated you with my post. My apologies, it was not my intention. My intent was to help HMT readers complete their turbo projects in the most reliable and correct manner.

As for the "points' in your response...

As for "re-threading"... I think that most experienced mechanics will agree that "re-threading" seldom produces a quality result. Sometimes it is possible to "chase" threads back into position if disturbed by cross-threading, but changing the pitch completely is not possible without destroying the integrity of the connector. When you are messing with the oil supply for your engine, I would think that you would want to use the best possible solution avaiable. The alternatives are potentially screwing up the threads in your engine block, or having the connector break and pumping the oil out of your engine. I assure you that these results are not priceless, but will certainly have a dollar value to get them repaired. This dollar value will certainly be much greater that the $4 difference between our connector and a "re-threaded" solution.

As for the donations... TunerToys has most certainly contributed to HMT. In fact we were Jeff's very first contributor. We have also contributed since then, as a result of manifold sales. We were so happy to be able to provide this part to DIY'ers, that we donated one of these connectors to Jeff's next turbo project. (BTW, In my humble opinion, flaming folks who contribute to your cause is not always the best plan of action. But that's just me.) When I originally made that donation statement, I had envisioned contributing $1 to HMT for every connector sold. Not wanting to send a bunch of $1 donations, I figured I would wait until 10 had sold, and then send Jeff a $10 donation. Hence my statement. Sorry that wasn't good enough for you.

Anyway, sorry this stretched out so long, my intentions were good.

The offer still stands, although modified. $1 dollar to Jeff and HMT for each connector sold.

Thanks to all. Craig @ Tuner Toys

Thanks Todd, I was really happy to put this one together. I didn't mean to tick off Stealthmode. This adapter will work great with his hose kit. Craig

Re:FS: Complete oil feed/drain kit

yeah it will I mean he can get rid of the tee and one of his fittings which will offset the cost.. ;D

Re:FS: Complete oil feed/drain kit

Stealthmode,

Sorry about the appearance of hijacking your post. My apologies. My fault for not thinking about what was appropriate behavior, and not stepping on toes in regards to other's posts.

We searched long and hard to find what we feel is almost the perfect fitting for this task. It combines the correct BSP and NPT threads, and connector sexes, into one short and sturdy fitting.

If you like, we'll send you one for free to check them out. If you think they are worthy, we'll happily sell you a quantity of them, at distributor pricing, so that you can include them with your oil line kits. We could also talk about carrying your oil line kits in our online store, as a cross sell with our HF manifold kits.

Please feel free to email me direct at sales@tunertoys.com, so we don't hog up all of Jeff's bandwidth!

Thanks Stealthmode, and sorry about steppong on your ad.

Craig @ TunerToys

Craig, probably not the best idea to hijack stealthmodes thread, heh, he gets upset easily ;)

Ya, the fitting is great, I just installed it on my B20b block yesterday. Craig, go ahead and make a post and I will make a sticky for you... I'll be sure to post some pics of the Install as well :)
