Nope. A lot of time masking and trimming. If you try to polish with the paint on you are very likely to scuff it or take uneven amounts of paint off the sides. With the wrinkle if you mess up and scuff it once with sand paper or a wheel it will be fucked and look like ass.

There really isn't any secret. I'm sure anyone could do it, but by time you buy all the materials to do it right and your time it's more than what I'm charging.

when i did mine i just painted it all....while it wasnt fully died i took a razor blade and scraped it off...looked nice since it all came off even....just like when u peel the tape off the still semi wet paint. Masking didnt work for me since i sucked @ laying it down and trimming it.

I know that's what I was talking about. Does he mean to get the paint off or glossy/shiny other than the factory cut/swirl marks? To get it shiny/glossy just be ready to polish your ass of and use some metal polish afterwards. On the B16 covers I probably spent a good 1/2 shining the letters up. I did it once I already stripped all the paint off though. I wouldn't recommend trying it with paint on because it will make the paint looks hazy/scratched.

You could use a buffer type wheel, but for me I have gotten better results by hand. To do it right you need to get stripper, degreaser, cleaner, really fine grit paper 2-3k, metal polish, primer, paint, clear if you want it glossy, painters tape (get the blue stuff, the regular tape will leave glue residue and pull chunks of paint with it), and set up a mock paint booth. If you get one little bit of dust in there when it dries it will stand out like a mountain.

Just to be clear, I'm talking about the DOHC and VTEC, the H emblem and the Honda word. You mask that off prior to painting? Or do you remove it after you've painted?
