Default Water temp gauge...

Just swapped my z6 into my 89 rex... and everything (except Vtec) is working fine... except the damn water temp gauge. I took that ******(water temp sensor) off the a6 the rex had and it worked beforehand. now, when i turn the car on, instead of the gauge going up, it moves down a little more and stays there. i tried to switch the two wires on it, but that also didn't work... any help would be appreciated. thanks

uummmm well i'm not sure why your gauge is doing that but i know that on my engine i don't have the sensor hooked up anywhere i just use the oem temp sensor. if your looking at your engine bay, in the upper right corner their is a batch of cables, in one of those plugs their should be a yellow w/ green wire (i'll have to double check when i can) and my water temp gauge is spliced right into that wire and it works like a charm. i'd say give that a try and if your water temp works good then u know it's your sensor. good luck. post what happens
