the government helping them isn't going to make anyone want to buy a car from them. Invest in someone they're going to buy parts from if they get a lot of capital flowing their way.

Yep. I predict once government cheese starts flowing their way they're going to try to move back to full production and start buying a bunch of ----. But rational people aren't going to buy cars when times are rough and when the market is volatile. Those are the only people who the banks are going to lend to.

The money Ford gets is either going to get raped by creditors, the executive management or it's going to be flooded in to car production. Which is then going to be throughly raped by unions. If you could find some company who's primary client was Ford, say someone who makes sensors for them or who they buy metal from, their stock could shoot up for a bit if and you could make some money if you kept an eye on it, but I don't see Ford pulling themselves out of anything here soon. By becoming socialized, they lose their whole Johnny market, which is bad news for them because no one buys a ford for any common sense reasons.(gas millage, reliability, quality)

Valeo comes to mind, although they build for a lot of OEMs as well as supply aftermarket parts. Not the exclusivity you are speaking of.

If this were Honduh it'd be pretty easy to buy Keihin stock. I lack the knowledge of Ford to know who/what.

 

i think its a good idea, but there is no guarantee that they wont tank.

My family has been discussing it for a year or so, good think no one has bought any yet, stil droping a little bit.. and i dont see it coming up just because the gov, gives them a little money.. the need or want for new cars, by the average person is fairly low right now.
