Default no vtec after head work on h22

well i broke a retainer due to coil bind on one of the intake valves and droped it into the cylinder but it didnt mess the piston up bad at all. i put a new valve and a set of supertech springs and retainers. got it all put back togther (---- a timing belt on an h22 by the way) and it runs good but vtec doesnt come in. at first it would then it wouldnt then it would then it wouldnt it would kinda do it when it wanted to. the last time it came in it kicked on and off while it was supposed to be on. then hasnt came in since. there is no codes and everything is pluged in. ive never had a vtec car before so i really dont know where to start on what o rings could be bad if its the solenoid or what. ive searched and i didnt see anyone else that had that problem. im supposed to be driving this thing to the beach sunday so i need to fix this thing asap! thanks in advance

check ur oil level and pressure and wire grounds.....especially that one on the thermostat housing. Or any other ground or sensor you unhooked while taking the head off.

Make sure ur vtec solenoid screen isn't clogged either
