maybe a vacuum leak at the intake manifold?
have you changed anything aside from the bin? does the old bin fix the surge?

have you tried starting a new p30 map in gold, copy all your timing and fuel tables over and set up your options in gold.. save it and try that? maybe something is being corrupted when you edit an old map in gold? not sure as I still use the free version

I have always had an idle surge. Sometimes its there sometimes its not. I have never figured it out. I have changed so many settings, started with different maps. It really doesn't bother me anymore. I don't know how severe yours is, mine is minor. Little surge from like 800-1100rpms, then it just evens out. I run regular crome free. I have checked for vacuum leaks to IAC and nothing. I will check to see if you find yours. Mines on a 2000 si b16a2 obd1 with ostrich.
