weird problem after engine swap in blazer. figure this one out guys. make money
ok did a 4.3 swap in my blazer. spun a rod bearing in the old engine. anyways, when i turn the engine over i hear i horrible clunking/grinding noise from the starter area. i installed a new starter and still the sam problem. i did tighten down the 3 torque converter bolts also. and there was no shims in the starter for this engine either. what could my problem be? the flex plate does not look worn and has all the teeth. ill paypal whoever leads me to the fix some cash. Thanks.
my last 4.3 lasted 205k when i sold it. never had to replace anything except fuel pumps. it really doesnt matter what vehicle you have, its all about maintnance and knowing the commen problems with them.
yeah my dad had a 4.3 liter jimmy. same ---- as your blazer for say when it comes down to parts. for no reason at all, rod knock owned the engine. same thing happened to my buddy. rod knock owned his truck too. and were talking 120k engines with normal wear and tear on them. constant oil changes at 3-4k miles. my vote is junk pos. ill stick with my honda any day.
i got a 4.3 comming up with just under 200k those are strong. all i had to do so far is change the oil every whenever i feel like it.
