I need to measure my deck for straightness. I don't want to buy a precision straight edge. Do any of you kids have one that you can compare with a fluroescent light bulb? I'd like to avoid spending $60 bucks on a tool that I'll use 4 or 5 times.

 

get a drafting ruler or something, and if you still don't trust it find a nice counter top and bust out some feeler gauges to test it out on. Honestly, copper gasket spray and over torquing the head bolts FTW

i wouldnt trust a light bulb. im sure you know someone with a straight edge that will do fine.
