So I let my brother drive my car ( 97 hatch w/ gsr swap) home from my buddies house. The next day it starts actin shitty. Its hard to start up, takes a lot of crankin to get it going. Seems to idle fine,but once you stomp the gas it falls on its face, and sputters and does not sound good at all If you keep the gas pedal pressed down for like 2 seconds it will kill it. Any thoughts as to whats up w/ this bitch? I just got Rywire harness installed correctly, and have no CELs and now this happens... still no CELS

 

i just did a full tune up and forgot to readjust my dizzy, and had the same problems of it falling on its face. try that.

 

thanks guys. Ill try and check that ---- out this weekend. Off the top of my head... to check if fuel pump is going out, would i just be checking voltage on it at idle, WOT? :1

 

do the basic stuff tune up wise and ask what the hell he did

I did that, and of course " I did nothing". In all reality i will never know if he raced it again, and just gonna lie to me ya know. I will try to check the timing this weekend, but ---- it. Im going fishing so not gonna try and worry about it. Could the spark plugs cause this to happen? Cause 2 days before started actin up I put in some pre-gapped Bosch plugs.

 

Pull the plugs and check them. I had a side electrode break off one of my Bosch plugs one time.
