Default oil control ring question. a lil help would be awesome

ok I am in the middle of building my b18a1 motor right now for boost in my hatch soon. ran into what I am afraid of is a little probem. I bought nipon rings off ebay the rings end gap seems to be right on like it should be except the oil control flew ring. you know the one that is all up and down. the little oil control rings gap out right also. but the w one seems very tight. lik when you put it in the bore its does not want to lie flat. wants to be all wavey. any idea? did I some how get the wrong rings in the package? or is the new design different. I say new because I do not rember my last set of nipons looking like that. oh and on a side note does anybody have the part number off there acl rod bearings the number that is stamped on the bearing? thanks again for the help guys.

Lol wut.

You mean the Oil Ring?

I don't believe that controls any oil, just wipes excess off the cylinder wall. Are you trying to just slip the ----------ing into the block?

You need a piston ring compressor, that ring is supposed to maintain good contact with the walls, i.e. have some tensile strength to it.

I'm not sure if that's what your problem was but...

no no nothing to do with trying to get the piston in the block with the rings. it's a matter that the w shaped ring will not go in the bore by its self even it's so big. I was specing out the rings and noticed that it was way to tight. its the ring that has two rings on it one on top and one on the bottom. I am not a noob to building engines this is about the 10 or 12th one I have done now. just the first time I have had this problem.

Yea man.

That is your oil control ring, what are you having a problem with?

Because to get it in the cylinder you need to compress it. Or is it too long, like circumference wise, i.e. when you compress it it'll come together at the end before it will slide into the bore; because you can cut it to fit, just be careful when doing it.

Take off a little bit at a time.

well it turns out that npr must have put over sized oil control rings in the kit cause the new ones just came in and they worked fine. motor is all build and waiting to be put in,broke in and boosted to hell. hoping to make around 300whp with a set of delta regrinds on a stock lst
