ok heres my new ------- problem.. i got my turbo on and ready to go and ---- and everynight ill do a quick run around my block to break it in slowly...well after each run i start to here this weird knocking noise and my oil light blinks on and off with the knocking..well tonight after i was done with my run it started knocking loud as ---- ...i thought i spun a bearing or i was punding the ---- out of a valve.. so i shut the motor off to take a look..let it sit for about 15 to 20 minutes...start it up no knocking at all..i dont understand it...im trying to figure out if its my oil pump goin bad or what...but what would make it knock...also my oil pressure starts out around 70 psi once my engine gets warm i can bearly get 25 psi on a rev..

 

I don't know what it is.

But I wouldn't keep starting it up, obviously something is fucked. Take it apart and find out what it is.

Hint: it's most likely something in the engine that moves.

 

i am going to rip my oil pan apart this weekend and look up through my bottom end and see if im spiining a bearong or if my walls our scored...do you know what oil pump fits the dohc zc

 

No clue about the oil pump, I've never seen a dohc zc in person. You could just take it out and make sure it's in spec.

If you spun a bearing you'll probably see the rod bolts stretched a little. Just take the caps of and if you get thin shards of metal hitting you in the face, congratulations.

 

Your screen may be clogged on the oil pump pickup screen . Quick fix if it is though

 

switch to rotella t 15w40 see if you still have poor pressure

 

the reason it goes away is because oil is thicker when cold...so you have more oil pressure upon startup and then it thins out and you get knock

 

i kinda knew that it gets thinner but i dont know if my oil pump it self is fried or what... regardless it shouldent be doing that fucked up ---- after i drive it for 2 mins
