Default cel

i put a header on my 97 lx 1.6 civic and the o2 sensor after where the cat would be is now to short. the a/f sensor on the header works, but since the o2 was too short i just put the bung in it. there is no longer a cat/exhaust mani just a header. SO the question is, do i cut and splice to make the sensor wires longer to make it fit in the hole, and what do i do about the cel for the no cat? thanks so much for any help in advance.

even if you lengthen the wires you will still have a cel. get the obd-1 set up or a simulator.
