Default stupid question, pressurizing intake manifold

im trying to track down a possible vac leak before i boost this car, i hooked up a air tank and regulator to the brake booster line fitting on the intake manifold and it didnt hold pressure, am i wrong or should this work and i have massive leaks? i was told after that this wont work cause valves are always open which kinda makes sense

car runs fine but throws half a dozen fuel/air related codes

pull the cam shaft and then make a a coupler with a pvc cap and thread it(put is on your throttle body and use that you pressurize it but no more then 20 pounds or so is needed and listen for the leaking air.

carb cleaner ---- face :1

just run the car and spray something moderately flamable around the intake manifold, the motor will suck it in and the idle will change. Propane works well, also carb clean
