Default what oil should i use to break in my engine?!

i have heard a lot of different things like use the best, the worst, dont use synthetic, use synthetic, im leaning to the plain jane low dollar oil for the 1st couple of oil changes. for the break in and then switching to royal purple.

ideas comments?

Canola Oil, ultra low viscosity for added HP and you can fry chicken with the left-overs from your first oil change....

Personally, I've broken/broke in most of my builds with generic 10/30 or 5/30 dinosaur oil. I prime, start, run for 20mins at 2500, allow engine to cool, change oil, check for debris...if all is good I proceed to drive it like I stole it.

Change oil again at 500 and re-check for any debris/trash etcetera.

Just make sure you prime the oil pressure in the engine before you actually start it for the first time.

Make sure you've got a 1/2 way decent tune, you don't want to wash your clyinders down with excess fuel during the inital break inl. Better to err on the side of a touch lean for the N/A section of your fuel map than too rich. The excess heat from it being lean with actually help with the seating process for your rings...allegedly.

You could always set an ECU rev limit(fuel cut) at 2500 and just hold it there....you may not want to do that for too long though

whatever you plan on running forover. A motor will break in within around 5 minutes if done correctly
