Well everyone else was getting new cars so why not me :P I was browsing hater-tech the other night trying to fix the numerous problems with my ghetto obd1 converted car I found an 89 std hatch for sale. My car is in pretty bad shape without the wiring problems damn road salt. Judging by the one crappy pic the newbie posted this one looked to be in better shape not to mention has a lot less miles on it. I told the guy i wanted it and Saturday me and my dad made the 75mi trip to get it. We get there do the money/title/keys exchange and get ready to head home with it and it decides not to start Now the guy had told me it did this every now and then so i had brought spare parts with me. The car had a new main relay and coil so I decided to change the dizzy out to see if maybe the igniter was dieing. We swap dizzys and the car fired right up again and sat a idled perfect. We made the 75mi home trip with no problems and only used 1/8 tank of gas. my dads 97 lumnia used 1/2 tank round trip Any one want to take guesses what i paid for this beast :P

Plans:
Fix the minor rust
Flat black
Paint or swap out the ugly *** brown interior
Mpfi swap The proper way

Whats sad is this car is in better shape than a local 91 DX I looked at They wanted $1750 for it and it was auto and on gay 17" rims

Hehe... the good old std civic. Looks like your going to have to do a complete teardown and rebuild.
Might have had better luck getting the dx with the automatic.

No the dx was BEAT it had dents and some rust on every panel this one only has the normal rear quarter+rocker rust and its not all that bad yet. I have a z6 block im going to put ls rods and vittara pistons in and run a non-vtec head with boost My current car has a si trans in it so it will be put in as soon as the ISB is changed
