cut the spark, rich is no good either but a lot better then lean... and when you limit by ignition it keeps your turbo spooled slightly in a launching scenario if your bouncing of it, and just backfires if you go too high..

it shows up lean on a wideband because the WB02 measures amount of O2 (oxygen) content left over from a burn and when that exhaust is all mixed together it would appear lean to an O2 sensor.
