Well I now have the cash to get my first welder, and iver decidecd on a reconidtioned hobart handler 140 for $420...seems to be a machine that will suit me for what i want do with it

Now i need to know what else i need to get started doing some basic fab stuff..

Chop saw
angle grinder
welding helmet
(those 3 above will prolly all be hf units)
mig pliers
gloves
mig wire (do brands matter? will stainless wire work for mild steel as well? what type works best?)
misc clamps, magnets maybe

edit: gas too..(any suggestions on the mix or size of tank)

 

i dont know about mig, but for my tig, i use 100% argon, and get a bigger tank, you weld alot at the begining to learn
