Default Video Card

Well I got a ne video card and I couldn't get it to work. Then I read the instructions and it said I had to unhook or disable my intergrated video card. I cant figure out how to do that. Anybody have an idea. It plugs into a white slot if that helps.

You onboard video may be jumpered, where you have to move a jumper on the motherboard or you can disable it in the bios.

What plugs into a white slot? The integrated video wouldn't plug into anything.

BTW the color does not matter. You need to know the type of slot.

agp is brown, and has a little lever lock thingy towards the inside of the slot.

pci is just like a soundcard

just keep on hitting delete when computer is booting, the go throught menu and disable the on-board video card.

The new video card plugs into the white slot. I didn't see any jumper on it but I can check it again.

f1, delete, or maybe f2 will be the BIOS key. the window that first comes up when booting should display this.

but they aren't WHITE like the pci's usually are.

what type of computer
you need to get into bios an disable onboard video, or set the jumper for a video card. most comsumer computers like hp dell etc have an option on startup to enter seip press f2 oe whatever and go thourgh the menuss
