Default New toy!

I was going to modify the smiley with the pedal mod but bought this insted. I got this last Friday. Its a Pro Wave 185. I also bought a #17 flexible torch for it. They gave me the Flex for $30 because I bought the welder. Im still getting used to it. I made this top mount with it.

Same boat as you, Smiley will do everything I'll ever need to.

Absolutely. This came about when I took 2 similar joints and one I welded on the smiley and one I welded on my Sycro wave at the shop. I couldn't believe the difference. The Thermal arc must have better arc stablization or voltage control. The heat is much more uniform. The welds themselves seem cleaner for some reason.
