Default making a mig welder?

well, i've decided that i'm going to make a mig welder. what?

yes. flux fore for now, i'm using a lincoln .035 tip, in a m6 x 1.00 nut, welded to steel tube and sleeved with 1/8" PEX tubing for a wire shield. wire feed will be taken care of by means of a small motor, hooked into an old hobby grade remote control gearbox, driven off of a decently low, yet usable voltage (5v or so), wired into a heavy duty potentimeter. basically the same thing as a mig, yet made from readily available parts.

i'll power this with my dick around stick welder, 0-70amp infintely adjustable.

any ideas/comments on this?

pretty cheap when i can use a already bought stick welder i have, and add in mig potential for a WHOPPING $30 in parts, at most.

if you ask me, it's worth being able to flip between mig and stick in 10 seconds. anything more demanding on this setup, and i'd need a new welder. i'm tired of stick welding, yeah, it's fun, i'm quite adept at using it, but scratch start rod stick =

Not quite that simple.

GMAW is CV while SMAW is CC. Unless you have a voltage sensitive wire feeder then you won't be able to weld much.

if it doesn't work, then it's not much of a loss. but if it does work, then
