i like to point the subs towards the rear of the car. When i had a single 12 in my coupe. It sounds 10x better when pointing backwards, same in my old hatchback, same for my brothers escalade. The sound has more things to bounce off of when pointing towards the rear lol. i dont know its just my personal preference.

bass (the sound) itself is non-directional.

back, or up in as hatchback with a low roof/window (aka CRX). IIRC it helps to accoustically load the drivers, similar to a bandpass box.

the best way to point your subs is to the rear.

the erason is because of the bass reflex. the bass travels out of your subs in sound waves like a ripple in a pond. when u point it to the rear it has mor time to get larger. but at the same time there are mathmatical equations to figour out where they should be .

it also comes into what type of box u have
bandpass
ported
sealed
free air subs.

and a lot more differnt things

it also matters about your port for sound
the port should be tuned for the sound you want
port length, size and surface area all matter
you have shitty dumbass straight ports in cheap boxes and the you have single and dble wall ports and also L ports

it all depends on car, subs and everything.

do u want spl levels or do u want SQ?...
